Draupadi

Draupadi, in her previous birth, was granted a boon by Lord Shiva by virtue of which she ended up having five husbands in her next birth. She asked for several qualities in her husband like Dharma, Power, Warrior traits and beauty which could not be accommodated in a single person or one human body, but Lord Shiva, who is known for never disappointing his true devotees, had to grant her the wish and consequently, had to grant her with five different human bodies as husbands- possessing all those qualities.
Like a man, who is never satisfied with the qualities his wife possesses; he wants to add some, remove some and manipulate some, a woman also wants a husband who carries everything that makes him a perfect match for her. What she desires, are qualities, not bodies! Even if she gets those qualities in different bodies, the purpose gets fulfilled. She has got what she wanted in her husband; whether in one or multiple human forms, is unimportant.
Human body is perishable. Soul is eternal. The seemingly reprehensible concept of multiple partners could be rightly understood if we understand the soul and not its apparel.

The rise of an Aam Aadmi!

Delhi assembly elections, debacle of Congress, victory for BJP, inconclusive results and a spectacular show by Aam Aadmi Party, most importantly, the man behind it- Arvind Kejriwal. This is what is trending as the hottest topic of debate, discussion and awe these days.
The 'non-existent' party- as Ms. Sheila Dixit once snubbed the AAP- has sent shock waves and became the biggest reason for ignominy to this three-times consecutive chief minister of Delhi and also to the most dominant political party in India, the Congress, which has shrunk to a single digit number of seats. This is just the beginning.
There is one man who is determined to transform the political scenario and make politics a fair game instead of a dirty world! He had the courage to leave behind the most coveted job in the country, only to come to roads to protest against the system and represent the frustration of an 'aam aadmi' furious with the governance. He got lathicharged, he went to jail, he was scoffed by big-shot politicians, denounced by his own mentor; but the common man had seen in him a ray of hope, that there is still some space for clean politics. Yes, the faith in system can be restored. The long held assumptions of conventional politics can be shaken to the core. And this is proved by his stunning victory in the New Delhi constituency defeating none other than the Chief Minister herself!
The phenomenal success in a debut, for which even well known psephologists and political pundits speculated not more than a single digit number, is reeking of an audacious wave of change yet to come by sweeping 28 out of 70 seats leaving everyone spellbound and keeping BJP considerably far from rule.
"Sirf hungama khada karna mera maqsad nahin, meri koshish hai ki ye surat badalni chahiye"
These famous lines by Dushyant Kumar have been recited time and again by Mr. Kejriwal at various protests and media appearances. Now that he has emerged as a true winner being the man who has won hearts, these lines seem to be aptly suited on him. Whatever is next, no one can tell but one thing is for sure- this is the victory of a true democracy and the rise of an 'aam aadmi'!
